Jordan Partee scratched on all three of his long jump attempts but still qualified for the Indiana Wesleyan State Indoor Track & Field Meet this weekend.

Partee, a senior at Madison, had already qualified for the meet based upon earlier results but was attempting to increase his mark this past weekend at DePauw.

All three of Partee's attempts were wiped out but his last attempt did go 22 feet, 6 inches.

Partee is the only Madison Cub to qualify thus far. Nick Palmer finished second in the meet in the pole vault at 12 feet, 6 inches and is currently ranked 18th in the state. The team is waiting word on whether the mark is good enough to get him to the finals.

Other results for the Cubs were: David Gibson, Quinton White, Justin Robertson and Patrick Knight, sixth, 3200 relay, 8:59.29; Nathan Riley, eighth, shot put, 45-5.5; Palmer, Partee, Logan Cassidy and Gabe Stoll, 16th, 800 relay, 1:42.42; Stoll, 19th, long jump, 18-6 and 77th, 60 dash, 8.25; and Alex Schmidlapp, 24th, shot put, 39-0.5.

The state finals will be held Saturday at Indiana Wesleyan University in Marion.
