Raiders run roughshod over Henry

It's been a long time since Trimble County coach Kerrie Stewart saw the team she expected to put on the floor this year based on how well the Raiders played during summer leagues.
That team re-emerged Monday night at the worst time possible for Henry County as the Raiders ran roughshod over the Wildcats 71-36 in New Castle, Ky.
"That's really the first time since this summer that we've played really well," Stewart said. "We were sharing the ball, everybody was communicating and everyone was involved in our offense."
Trimble County dished out 21 assists on its 30 field goals and the Raiders drained six 3-pointers and were 5-of-6 at the foul line to beat Henry from start to finish.
Trimble, now 13-11, 6-5 North Central Kentucky, would have easily had the measure of Henry (9-18, 1-9 NCKC) even without playing so well, but to see her team play such a game with the regular season winding down toward the postseason was a welcome sight to the Trimble coach.
"We've had some games this year against similar teams and we didn't play well. We played to the level of the competition," Stewart said. "But tonight we played really well and we need to bring that consistency night-in and night-out."
Trimble jumped on the Wildcats 20-7 in the first quarter and then led 38-19 at halftime before winning the contest going away - including a 19-9 finish in the fourth quarter.
Junior guard Paige Black led all scorers with a career-high 31 points, seven assists and five steals while junior guard Jesse Dunlap also had a career-high in points by scoring 20 to go with five assists. Senior forward Chloe Griffith had 10 points, 14 rebounds and five steals.
Freshman guard Cheyenne Clark led the Wildcats with 18 points.
Trimble will now host John Hardin Friday on the Raiders' senior night in Bedford.
