Trimble County's football team scrimmaged the Caverna Colonels Saturday in Bedford and came away with a one-point victory. The Raiders won on a pair of Tevin Taylor touchdowns and a quick slant by Dusty Wyssbrod that led to the game-winning touchdown.

Trimble travels to Jackson County Friday for its season opener.

Last year, Jackson County won an 18-0 decision over the Raiders. Head coach Justin Franklin thinks his Raiders can compete with the Colonels this year, as Jackson County lost a big group of seniors from that team.

"Overall, I was a little disappointed in our scrimmage today even though we won," Franklin said. "It was a sloppy victory. I believe we're capable of so much more than we showed today."
