Reb netters bounce back from first loss 4-1

Southwestern girls tennis rebounded from its first loss of the season on Thursday by defeating Trinity Lutheran 4-1 in Seymour.
The Rebels lone loss cameat No. 1 singles where Abbey Garrett fell to Trinity's Brehnyn Pollert. Southwestern swept the remaining four matches without giving up a single game.
"It was a good win for us after a real tough loss last night," Southwestern head coach Kenny Garrett said. "I am happy the way the girls came out ready to play."
Match results were: Singles - No. 1 Brehnyn Pollert (TL) d. Abbey Garrett (SW) 6-2, 6-1; No. 2 Sarah Anderson (SW) d. Aurora Williams (TL) 6-0, 6-0; No. 3 Emily Watkins (SW) won by forfeit; Doubles - No. 1 Jordan Worcester and Kearstin Bruther (SW) d. Shelby Nierman and Allison Hackman (TL) 6-0, 6-0; No. 2 Meredith Webber and Heather Totten (SW) d. Cassidy Prentice and Kelly Adams (TL) 6-0, 6-0.
Southwestern (5-1) hosts Milan on Tuesday.
Hilltoppers fall at Christian
Christian Academy got the best of the Lady Hilltoppers Thursday in a 4-1 win over Shawe in New Albany.
Megan Hill picked up Shawe's lone win at No. 3 singles before Christian swept the remaining matches despite competitive play in the other two singles.
"This is the best Christian Academy team I have seen since I have been coaching," Shawe head coach Steve Sims said. "They are good top to bottom. Our singles players battled but just couldn't quite get over the hump."
Match results were: Singles - No. 1 Lauren Winchell (CAI) d. Taylor Grote (SM) 7-5, 6-4; No. 2 Rachel Jones (CAI) d. Claire Higgins (SM) 6-4, 6-2; No. 3 Megan Hill (SM) d. Courtney Brown (CAI) 6-3, 6-4; Doubles - No. 1 Brittany Moffett, Danielle Summitt (CAI) d. Jenna Armstrong, Carson Hambrick (SM) 6-0, 6-0; Callie Allison, Kacie Arrell (CAI) d. Hannah Storm, Lauren Cieslinski (SM) 6-0, 6-1.
Shawe (5-3) hosts Trinity Lutheran on Monday.
Gallatin edges Trimble girls
Trimble County's girls fell 3-1 to Gallatin County on Thursday in Warsaw.
Trimble's Whitney Wingham and Diane Payton picked up the Raiders' lone win at No. 2 doubles. Gallatin swept both singles events and took the No. 1 doubles in a tie-breaker.
Match results were: Singles - No. 1 Chole Oldendick (GC) d. Kim Abbett (TC) 6-2, 6-3; No. 2 Audrey White (GC) d. Hope Caswell (TC) 6-3, 6-0; Doubles - No. 1 Alex Johnston, Shelby Ackermann (GC) d. Micah Hess, Alex Lawhorn (TC) 6-3, 3-6, 13-11; No. 2 Whitney Wingham, Diane Payton (TC) d. Brittany Merdia and Kayla Halbren (GC) 6-3, 6-1.
