Southwestern's boys swim team closed out the regular season at the Jeffersonville Invitational on Tuesday.

The event was scored as a series of dual meets. The Rebels defeated Charlestown 93-24, Silver Creek 78-61, Lanesville 98-17 and North Harrison 89-47. Southwestern lost to Jeffersonville 147-32, Scottsburg 82-67 and Corydon 105-55.

"We had seven best times tonight to close the boys' regular season," Southwestern coach Shelly Hamilton said. "Ryan Furnish had two individual bests. We will now spend the next two weeks preparing the boys for the sectional."

Top finishes for Southwestern were: Nathan Anderson, fifth, 100 back, 1:11.72 and sixth, 200 medley relay, 2:16.39; Zachary Hamilton, fifth, 100 breast, 1:14.57 and sixth, 200 IM, 2:37.50; Ryan Furnish, sixth, 500 free, 6:59.35 and ninth, 200 free, 2:29.84; Anderson, Hamilton, Dylan Truesdell and Travis Higham, sixth, 200 medley relay, 2:05.62; Anderson, Furnish, Higham and Hamilton, sixth, 400 free relay, 4:18.54; Nicholas Battjes, seventh, 500 free, 7:15.35; Higham, ninth, 50 free, 26.54; and Battjes, Jacob Grayson, Truesdell and Kotaro Imai, ninth, 400 free relay, 5:32.80.

Southwestern's next boys meet will be the IHSAA Sectional at Floyd Central on Feb. 14. The Southwestern girls open their sectional at Floyd Central on Thursday.
