Rebel swimmers split with South Dearborn

Southwestern hosted South Dearborn for its final home swim meet of the season Tuesday.
The Rebels won the boys meet 107-84 but lost 145-125 in the girls meet.
"The senior members of the team got to pick the lineup and everyone swam what they were entered. Along with some other antics, this ended our home meets for this season," Southwestern coach Shelly Hamilton said. We managed to have 15 best times again tonight, and the kids had a great time."
The Rebels honored seniors Jacob Grayson, Lakin Henderson, Travis Higham, Kotaro Imai, Ashley Truesdell and Julia Vazquez as well as Shawe senior Liz Grote and senior swimmers from South Dearborn.
Winners for Southwestern's boys were: Dylan Truesdell, 200 IM, 2:53.75; Zachary Hamilton, 100 fly, 1:14.93; Travis Higham, 100 free, 1:03.24; Nathan Anderson, 100 back, 1:10.79; and Anderson, Higham, Hamilton and Truesdell, 200 medley relay, 2:09.62.
Other finishes for the Southwestern boys were: Jacob Shaffer, second, 200 free, 2:29.90 and third, 500 free, 6:49.10; Higham, second, 50 free, 27.40; Ryan Furnish, second, 100 free, 1:04.73 and third, 50 free, 28.21; Hamilton, second, 500 free, 6:38.75; Kotaro Imai, second, 100 breast, 2:05.94; Furnish, Nicholas Battjes, Truesdell and Hamilton, second, 200 free relay, 1:59.64; Battjes, third, 200 free, 2:35.70 and third, 100 back, 1:25.42; Anderson, third, 100 fly, 1:30.29; and Grayson, third, 100 free, 1:05.84.
Top finishes for Southwestern's girls were: Jordan Worcester, first, 200 free, 2:17.92 and first, 500 free, 6:05.89; Lakin Henderson, first, 100 breast, 1:21.02 and second, 100 fly, 1:17.21; Meredith Webber, second, 50 free, 30.93 and second, 100 free, 1:07.86; Cassidy Weaver, second, 100 back, 1:23.18; Gianna Bennett, second, 100 breast, 1:21.22 and third, 200 IM, 2:34.21; Worcester, Bennett, Henderson and Webber, second, 200 medley relay, 2:15.54; Zaynah Watson, Rebekah Anderson, Weaver and Webber, second, 200 free relay, 2:10.80; Anderson, third, 200 free, 2:29.50 and third, 500 free, 6:55.51; Julia Vazquez, Carol Osborn, Taylor Suthard and Sara Judge, third, 200 free relay, 2:22.40; and Vazquez, Sarah Schroeder, Suthard and Watson, third, 400 free relay, 5:20.77.
Grote won two events for the Hilltoppers, the 200-yard individual medley in 2:27.42 and the 100-yard butterfly in 1:06.73.
Southwestern competes at Greensburg on Thursday.
