Southwestern struggled in its second game without senior Gunnar Henry and the result was a 37-36 boys basketball loss at Rising Sun on Thursday.

The game was close throughout and the Rebels took a 35-31 lead into the fourth quarter. But Southwestern managed only a Tristan Embs free throw in the fourth as the Shiners outscored the Rebels 6-1 in the period to pull away for the win.

Darius Whitson-Spegal led Southwestern with 13 points and Nick Wyne scored 10. Ryan Dugan led Rising Sun with 10 points.

Southwestern, now 5-13 and 1-5 in the Ohio River Valley Conference, visits Christian Academy on Saturday.
