Southwestern volleyball played well Monday, but fell 3-0 to solid Trinity Lutheran in Seymour.

The Cougars easily took set one 25-12 and then out-battled Southwestern 25-22 in the second set before capping the sweep 25-16 in the final set.

"I thought we played fairly well tonight," said Southwestern coach Chris Johnson. "Trinity is a very solid team defensively and they have good middles that we had a difficult time defending. We were unable to produce much offensively, especially in the first and second sets."

Sarah Anderson was 13-for-14 serving with 15 digs, 14 assists and three kills. Karli Long was 6-for-7 serving while adding five kills and four digs.

"Katie Conover did an amazing job playing defense and on serve reception," Johnson said. "She was all over the court and really kept us in the game. Sarah Anderson did a good job of finding our hitters and giving them opportunities to score but we just were not able to score enough."

Southwestern (7-7) hosts Milan today.
