Southwestern tennis lost only one set while rolling over Madison 5-0 in to remain unbeaten on the season.
The only match in which the Lady Rebels struggled was the No. 1 singles where Abbey Garrett dropped the first set to the Cubs' Molly McGarry 6-3 before taking the next two sets 6-2, 6-1.
Southwestern netters lost only 10 other games the rest of the way.
"It was a good win for us in very cold and windy conditions," Southwestern coach Kenny Garrett said. "I am really proud of everyone's effort tonight. We could have easily had a little letdown after last night's win but all the girls were focused and played well."
Sarah Anderson scored a 6-1, 6-0 win over Anna Bruns at No. 2 singles and Cheyenne McKinley beat Rachel Lee 6-0, 6-0 at No. 3 singles.
In doubles action, Jordan Worcester and Kearstin Bruther teamed up to beat Maddie Robinson and Katie McGee 6-2, 6-2 at No. 1 while the Sydnie McKinley-Meredith Webber duo knocked off Clarissa Guillen and Kelli Hostettler 6-3, 6-2 at No. 2.
Southwestern is now a perfect 9-0 on the season and has beaten three of the four sectional foes it has faced. The Rebels will not see sectional rival Greensburg until the sectional tournament.
"Our home court has been good to us. We are 30-2 in the last four years at Hanover Park," Garrett said. "We now head to Providence on Saturday for a really tough tournament with some strong teams so it will be like a sectional atmosphere. This is the first time we have ever started the season 9-0 so we really have to carry that confidence into the weekend."
