Southwestern girls tennis won two singles matches and one doubles to lock up a 3-0 win in a rain-shortened match Thursday with Milan.
The Lady Rebels were dominant in their three completed matches, combining to win 36 games to just three by the Lady Indians as the Rebels upped their school record wins total to 17 on the season.
"We just got the match in as soon as the rain came and we were playing well at that time." Southwestern head coach Kenny Garrett said. "It was a good team win to get us to 17-2."
Results were: Singles - No. 1 Abbey Garrett (SW) led Racheal Smith (M) 6-1, 4-2; No. 2 Sarah Anderson (SW) d. Hannah Mulroy (M) 6-0, 6-1; No. 3 Cheyenne McKinley (SW) d. Tapanga Gauck (M) 6-0, 6-0; Doubles - No. 1 Jordan Worcester and Kearstin Bruther (SW) were down a set but rallying against Shelby Tippitt and Izzy Ott (M) 3-6, 5-2; No. 2 Meredith Webber and Alex Drossart (SW) d. Autumn Bowling and Alex Owens (M) 6-1, 6-1.
