Hanover College's volleyball team sent its seniors out in style and tacked a milestone win onto the career resume of head coach Peter Preocanin with a 3-0 win over Spalding University Friday night at Collier Arena on campus.

The Panthers gutted out a 25-22 win over the Golden Eagles in game one before rolling the visitors 25-15 in game two and closing out the win 25-20 in game three.

The win boosted the Panthers' 2012 record to 18-13 overall and marked the 200th win of Preocanin's 14-season tenure at Hanover.

Hanover's three seniors, who were recognized in a ceremony before the match, figured heavily in the win. Ashleigh Burakiewicz, a senior outside hitter from Greenwood, led Hanover's balanced attack with seven kills while fellow senior outside hitter Sarah Quebe, of Indianapolis, had six kills. Marissa Disbrow, a senior from LaPorte, had seven digs in her final home court appearance.

Nicole Hoene, a freshman middle hitter from Seymour, added six kills while Kelsey Wagner, a junior setter from Taylor Mill, Ky., had 15 assists and junior return specialist Kylie Justus, of Crawfordville, had a match-high 15 digs.

The win was Hanover's third over the Golden Eagles this season as Spalding slipped to 11-19.

Hanover will now play Defiance in the opening round of the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference volleyball tourney at 7 p.m. on Tuesday in Defiance, Ohio.
