Shawe Memorial couldn't overcome a pair of monster games by Charlestown's Chris Braun and Aaron Daniel in a 61-52 boys basketball loss at home on Saturday.

Braun had 32 points, seven rebounds and five blocked shots while Daniel had a triple-double of 11 points, 11 rebounds and 10 assists.

Despite the big game by Charlestown's top players, Shawe hung tough for the entire contest.

The Hilltoppers led 16-13 after the first quarter and the game was tied 24-24 at halftime. Charlestown (8-4) pulled away in the second half.

Joey Mingione led Shawe with 18 points while Taylor Rhoten scored 11.

Shawe, now 6-9, hosts Rising Sun on Friday.
