Shawe girls tennis rebounded from its second loss of the season on Tuesday to defeat Lawrenceburg 3-2 on Thursday in Madison.

The Hilltoppers swept the three singles matches but lost both doubles.

Taylor Grote won 6-2, 6-2 at No. 1 singles, Claire Higgins won 6-1, 6-1 at No. 1 singles while Megan Hill swept the No. 3 singles 6-0, 6-0.

No individual doubles results were available. Shawe (4-2) hosts New Washington on Wednesday.

Raiders fall to Cougars, 3-2

Trimble County girls tennis lost 3-2 to Bullitt Central on Thursday in Bedford.

The Raiders swept both doubles matches but came up short in singles play to lose all three matches to the Cougars, including a forfeit at No. 2 singles when the team came up short a player.

Match results were: Singles - No. 1 Amy Docter (BC) d. Kim Abbott (TC) 6-1, 6-2; No. 2 Rebecca Price (BC) won by forfeit; No. 3 Antonia Loehner (BC) d. Hope Caswell (TC) 8-6; Doubles - No. 1 Micah Hess, Alex Lawhorn (TC) d. Amy Gossett, Amber Wolf (BC) 6-3, 6-2; No. 2 Whitney Wingham, Diane Payton (TC) d. Bailey Hobbs, Kaitlyn Cundiff (BC) 6-1, 6-3.

Trimble hosts Shelby County on Monday.

Lady Rebels beat Austin, 3-2

Southwestern girls tennis won its second straight match on Wednesday, defeating Austin 3-2 on the road.

The Rebels split the doubles matches before taking two of three in singles.

Match results were: Singles - No. 1 Meagan Hollan (A) d. Abbey Garrett (SW) 6-1, 6-3; No. 2 Sarah Anderson (SW) d. Kaylin Carter (A) 6-1, 6-2; No. 3 Emily Watkins (SW) d. Megan Smith (A) 6-4, 7-5. Doubles - No. 1 Jordan Worcester, Kearstin Bruther (SW) d. Becca Raichel, Lindsey Cornette (A) 6-0, 6-1; No. 2 Cheyenne Riley, Holli Reynolds (A) d. Meredith Webber, Heather Totten (SW) 6-7 (6-8), 6-4, 6-1.

Southwestern (2-0) visits Jennings County today.
