Shawe picked up its first Ohio River Valley Conference soccer win of the season, defeating South Ripley on the road 4-2 on Wednesday.

South Ripley opened the match with a goal to take an early 1-0 lead but the Hilltoppers came back to score three consecutive goals in the first half.

Santiago Gonzalez connected on a goal and Grayson Rhoten followed with a score of his own on an assist from Jack Heitz. Heitz closed out the first half with a goal of his own, giving Shawe a 3-1 lead at the break.

The Raiders trimmed the deficit to 3-2 early in the second half, but Shawe answered right back when Rhoten collected his second goal of the day, securing a 4-2 Hilltopper win.

Shawe (1-1, 1-0 ORVC) hosts Jefferson County rival Southwestern on Tuesday.
