Short-staffed Raiders fall

A short-staffed Trimble County girls tennis team dropped a 4-1 decision to Franklin County on Thursday in Frankfort, Ky.
The Raiders spotted the Flyers two match wins at the outset when Trimble forfeited the No. 1 and No. 2 singles due to two players being ill and a third out with injury.
Trimble's No. 2 doubles team of Whitney Wingham and Diane Peyton picked up the Raiders' lone win of the day 4-6, 6-2, 10-8 over Franklin County's Peyton Miller and Shelby Hackensmith.
Kim Abbett lost 6-0, 6-0 to Franklin's Sal Marella at No. 3 singles and the Raiders' No. 1 doubles steam of Micah Hess and Alex Lawhorn fell 6-2, 6-0 to Lili Williams and Mary Gracee Amato.
Trimble hosts Carroll County in girls and boys action today.
