Hanover opened its 2013 softball season with a 5-0 loss to Rochester Tech (N.Y.) Sunday in Clermont, Fla.

Leah Kemmerer limited Rochester to just six hits with eight strikeouts but the Tigers combined the hits with two errors to push five runs across the plate.

Lyndsea Burke led the Panthers offense with two base hits. Kemmerer, Abby Murphy and Dani Merrick each had a double.

Hanover's second game of the day against Augustana (Ill.) was rained out.

The Panthers, now 0-1, face Rochester Tech and Augustana again today.
