South Central slams door on Pacers, 60-45

South Central exploded for 25 points in the fourth quarter to pull away to a 60-45 win over Switzerland County in boys basketball action Saturday in Elizabeth.
The Rebels, who are coached by former Madison head coach Ryan Crick, entered the final quarter with just a 35-33 lead over the Pacers but outscored the Swiss by 13 points in the fourth to win going away.
South Central held a 17-8 advantage in fouls called and was 20-for-28 at the free-throw line compared to 2-for-3 for Switzerland County.
Chase Ritch hit four 3-pointers for all 12 of his points and was the only Pacer in double figures. Trevor Smith added nine.
Kyle Pease had 29 points for South Central and Bobby Sampson scored 18.
Switzerland, now 6-2 on the season, has the rest of the holiday season off before facing South Dearborn in the opening round of the Rivertown Classic in Aurora on Jan. 3.
