Southwestern had two players reach 20 points as the Rebels posted an 82-79 double-overtime win over Triton Central in the Union County Tournament Friday in Liberty.

The Rebels, who lost to Northeastern 74-67 earlier in the day, got off to a quick start against Triton, scoring 22 points in the first quarter to go ahead by eight points.

But the lead was short-lived and Southwestern found itself in a battle the rest of the way before pulling out the victory in the extra session.

Darius Whitson-Spegal hit five 3-pointers and scored 24 points to lead the Rebels while Nick Wyne had a career-high 22 points in the win. Gunnar Henry added 11 points for the Rebels.

Northeastern bolted out to a 27-15 lead after the first quarter and held on from there to pick up the win over Southwestern earlier in the day.

Henry had 23 points to lead the Rebels while Wyne scored 15.

Southwestern, now 3-6 on the season, takes on New Washington at 4 p.m. today.
