Switzerland harriers score wins at South Dearborn

Switzerland County cross country grabbed the girls championship and Talen Taylor was the individual champion in the boys meet on Saturday at the South Dearborn Invitational.
Competing in the "small school" division, the Switzerland County girls team placed all five scoring runners in the top 20 to capture first place. Of the five, four placed inside the top 10.
Whitley Schirmer finished second in a time of 19:22, Robin Furnish in fourth at 20:28, Cameron Ray in seventh in 22:16 and Melissa Furnish finished eighth at 22:21. Audrey Kinne was 19th in 24:59 to round out the scoring.
Non-scorers for the Pacers included Lisa Leoni in 25:03 and Emily Campbell in 25:16.
Taylor won the boys meet in a time of 16:04, helping Switzerland County to a fourth place finish. Sean Oatman was the only other Pacer in the top 10, placing 10th at 18:08. Colton Penick 22nd at 19:06, Jordan Lay 28th at 19:36 and Cameron Papucci 36th at 20:10 rounded out the scoring. Michael Scott finished in 21:46 and Matt Oatman ran in 23:29.
Switzerland County will run today at the Dragon Invitational at Silver Creek High School.
