Switzerland's balance too much for Rising Sun
Saturday, December 08, 2012 3:59 AM
Chase Ritch hit four 3-pointers, and five other players scored at least seven points to lead undefeated Switzerland County to a 53-37 non-conference win at Rising Sun on Friday in boys action.
Ritch, who hit a school-record nine 3-pointers in a win over Trinity Lutheran last week, "settled" for five fewer this go around but his 14 points were enough to lead the balanced Switzerland scoring attack.
T.J. White, Trevor Smith, Clint Swanson and Alex Curran each scored eight points for the Pacers while Braden Burk had seven. Switzerland played the game without leading scorer Austin Clark who was out with a wrist injury.
Switzerland led only 12-6 after the first quarter but dominated the next two frames to lead 20-9 at the half and 31-14 after three quarters. Rising Sun won the fourth 23-22 but it was too little, too late.
Nathan Hannan led Rising Sun with a game-high 16 points.
Switzerland, now 4-0, is off to its best start since 2008-09 when it also opened 4-0. The Pacers travel to South Dearborn next Friday.
