Trimble County's girls tennis team rolled to a 4-1 win over Western Hills Friday in Bedford.

The Raiders won two of the three singles matches and both doubles to improve to 3-3 on the season. The lone match the Raiders dropped was at No. 1 singles where Elisabeth Moore fell to Jenny Carr 6-4, 6-1.

Alex Lawhorn won her No. 2 singles match over Western Hills' Grace Neal 6-2, 6-2 and Trimble's Ciarra Harmon defeated Samantha Hensley 8-5 at the No. 3 singles.

Trimble's Kale Cook and Micah Hess pulled out a 6-0, 6-3 win at No. 1 doubles over Diana Rudic and Courtnie Carr and Diane Payton and Cheynne Crouch defeated Western Hills' Courtney Woodyard and Emilee Agee 6-3, 6-3 at No. 2 doubles.

Trimble visits Franklin County on Wednesday.

Srouder top finisher for Carroll track & field

Carroll County's track and field teams competed in a 20-team regional meet at Walton-Verona on Saturday with Ashley Srouder posting the Panthers' only scoring finish against a very tough field.

Srouder placed fifth in the girls shot put with a season-best throw of 27-6.25.

Carroll's only other top 10 finish was a 36-7 effort in the shot put by Brandon Franklin that was good enough for ninth.

St. Henry won the girl meet with 115 points. Carroll was 15th with two points. Ryle won the boys meet with 87 points,.
