Freshman forward Michael Dunaway posted a double-double in points and rebounds and sophomore guard Evan Long was perfect at the free-throw line down the stretch as Trimble County powered past Williamstown for a 66-48 road win on Thursday night.

The Raiders (12-6, 1-2 North Central Kentucky Conference) used a huge 19-7 third quarter to pull away from the Demons (2-17, 0-3 NCKC) and then thwarted a Williamstown comeback in the fourth with dead-eye shooting at the foul stripe.

Trimble took 16 free throws in the fourth quarter and made 13 to expand a 41-27 cushion into a 66-48 rout.

Long was clutch down the stretch at the free-throw line, making 5-of-5 while Dusty Wyssbrod was 5-of-6 and Dunaway was 3-of-4.

Dunaway scored a game-high 23 points to go with 12 rebounds while Long tallied 20 and Wyssbrod had 13 points off the Raider bench.

Starting guard Rob Brooks scored just four points but was on the play-making end of eight Raider baskets to lead all players in assists.

Williamstown's sharpshooting junior guard David Jump led the Demons with 21 points and Dakota Griffin scored 11.

The Raiders got off to a slow start in the first half, leading 14-10 after a quarter and just 22-20 at halftime, but stepped up their defensive intensity in the second half to close out the team's 12 win of the season.

Trimble, winners of two straight on the road, will return home tonight to host Beth Haven (6-11) on the Raiders' basketball homecoming.
