Trimble County out-dueled Williamstown in a matchup of long-range shooters, 73-48, in boys basketball Friday in Bedford, Ky.

The Raiders, winners in seven of their last eight games, bombed in 11 3-pointers for the game to best Williamstown's eight. Andrew Young and Evan Long each had five treys for 19 points each to lead Trimble's barrage.

Trimble County led nearly the entire way but blew open the game with a strong second half that saw the Raiders outscore Williamstown 33-20 over the final 16 minutes.

"(We had a lot) of assists as we shared the ball well. The defense to start third quarter was outstanding and set the tone for the second half," Trimble assistant coach Michael Stewart said. "Leighton Taylor has been practicing well and it carried over into this game. He gave us good minutes off the bench."

In addition to Young and Long, Trimble got 13 points from Michael Dunaway and 12 from Robbie Brooks. David Jump led Williamstown with 12 points.

Trimble (9-5, 1-3 North Central Kentucky Conference) hosts North Bullitt on Monday.
