Trimble County picked up a volleyball win in four games Wednesday at Martha Layne Collins in Shelbyville.
The Lady Raiders won the first two game 25-23 and 25-19 before dropping game three 25-19. Trimble regrouped and then out-battled Collins in a 27-25 marathon in game four to close out the road win.
"Collins is a very good team. We hit, served, and blocked well in the games we won," Trimble coach Ruth Staples said. "We missed four serves and had horrible serve reception in the third game of the match which we lost."
Senior Paige Black collected 18 kills and 18 blocks while also going 17-for-18 serving with three aces for Trimble. Kayla Baker was 10-of-12 serving with two aces, eight kills and eight blocks.
Kayla Greenwood was 16-of-17 serving with 10 kills and eight blocks, Sydney Weaver was 22-for-25 on serve receptions and had 33 digs, Kate Staples was 40-for-43 in sets and Raven Hudson was 34-for-38 in sets.
Trimble County, now 9-9 on the season, will attempt to add on to its 30-match win streak in the North Central Kentucky Conference when the Raiders visit Walton-Verona today.
