An Indiana man was arrested by the Kentucky State Police after a pursuit through Trimble County and into Jefferson County, Ind.
Andrew F. Harrison, 25, of Scipio, Ind., was arrested on charges of assault, fleeing and evading police, and wanton endangerment of a police officer.
KSP Trooper Chip Perry, community relations officer, said Harrison allegedly struck his wife numerous times in Indiana and at a residence in Trimble County, leaving his wife with visible injuries.
After the alleged altercation, Perry said, Harrison went across the Madison-Milton Bridge, and once in Kentucky, KSP Lt. John Moberly initiated a vehicle traffic stop in the parking lot of Riverside Produce to stop Harrison. However, as Moberly was leaving his police cruiser, Perry said, Harrison accelerated his Chevrolet pickup truck toward Moberly and his police cruiser.
Moberly was able to move his police cruiser in time to avoid a collision with Harrison, Perry said. Harrison continued at a high speed across the Madison-Milton Bridge toward Indiana with Moberly in pursuit.
The Madison Police Department was already aware that the state police were looking for Harrison, so KSP dispatchers contacted the Madison Police Department for additional help. Three units from the Madison Police Department assisted Moberly with the pursuit, and Harrison was eventually stopped in Indiana, Perry said.
Harrison was arrested and waived extradition back to Kentucky, Perry said.
Harrison was arraigned at 8:59 a.m. Tuesday in Trimble County.
