Camps are held at universities around the state and offer campers a unique glimpse of campus life. Each program includes meals along with sleeping facilities.
Camp staffs are law enforcement personnel, who have committed themselves to preparing today's youth for their futures. The local camp will be held June 25-27 on the Hanover College Campus.
The three-day Respect for Law camps are for students entering 5th and 6th grades. Police officers staff the co-ed camps and programs include demonstrations by Emergency Response Team members, Bomb Squads, Underwater Search and Rescue Teams and Police Dogs.
These respect for law camps are co-sponsored by the Optimists Clubs of Indiana and a few scholarships are available for the Hanover College Camp.
Applications can be found at both the Indiana State Police web site www.in.gov/isp and the Indiana Troopers Association web site www.trooper.org.
