Looking Ahead items must be in writing and hand-carried, mailed, faxed or e-mailed to The Madison Courier at least two weeks before the date of the activity, meeting or event. Special Events

A.D.E.P.T. Level I: Will meet from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. April 11 and from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. April 12 at the Salvation Army, 331 E. Main St. For more information about the alcohol/drug education/prevention/pretreatment program call (812) 498-6880 or (812) 265-9059.

Pippin: The Shawe Memorial High School Drama Department will present Pippin at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. April 5 and at 4 p.m. April 6. Admission is $5 for students and $10 for adults.

Twelve Angry Men: The Jennings County Players will present "Twelve Angry Men" April 4 and 5 at 7:30 p.m., and April 6 at 2 p.m. at the Park Theatre Civic Centre, 25 N. Madison Ave., North Vernon. Tickets are $10 at the door for adults, $3 for students, and $1 for pre-school children. For more information call (812) 346-0330.

TASC Testing: The test that replaces the GED will be given April 7, 9, 28 and 30 at Madison Consolidated High School. Pre-registration is required. For more information call (812) 265-6672.

Farmer's Market: Will run from April 1 through Oct. 31 on Broadway between Main and Third streets. The market is open Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday from 6 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Jefferson County House of Hope: Will provide free food and supplies to residents of Jefferson County who are in need. A household may visit once every 30 days. Guests will be served from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesdays and from 9 a.m. to noon Fridays. The clearinghouse is located at 100 E. Second St. The entrance is located off First St., at the rear of the building.

Celebrate Recovery: A 12-step, Christ-centered, recovery program for hurts, habits and hang-ups, from addictions to depression, will meet at 4 p.m. Sundays at Faith Covenant Church, 217 E. April 4

Red Hatters of Madison: Will meet for lunch at 11:30 a.m. at The Falls Restaurant in Clifty Falls State Park. All Red Hatters and guests are welcome. For more information call (812) 265-4433.

Senior Dance: Will be held Friday by the Madison Parks Department at the Brown Gym featuring the music of Charlie Humphrey. The doors open at 5 p.m. Music begins at 6 p.m. Admission is $3.50 per person.

No More Cutting: A support group for girls from junior high to college who struggle with depression, fear, anxiety and suicidal thoughts will meet every Friday at Resurrection Lutheran Church, 1429 Clifty Drive, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. The group is spiritually-based and non-denominational. April 5

Community Yard Sale: The Madison Courier will sponsor a community yard sale from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Madison National Guard Armory, 1533 Clifty Drive. Two tables can be purchased for $25. The fee includes print, online and mobile advertising. The deadline to sign up is March 22. Proceeds from table sales will be donated to Big Brothers Big Sisters of Jefferson County. Easter Egg Hunt: The Jewel House, 607 Virginia Ave., will host an Easter egg hunt for children age 10 and under at 10 a.m.

A Garden Affair: Will be held from noon to 2 p.m. Tickets are $30, reservations are required. The event will feature a talk by landscape designer Jamie Gibbs, and includes a luncheon, garden vendors and silent auction. For more information or to make a reservation call (812) 273-0556.

Father-Daughter Dance: Local Girl Scout troops will host an annual father-daughter dance from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Madison Moose Lodge with flowers, pictures and food. Tickets are $10 per couple, $6 for individuals. To request a song in advance email musicinmotionofky@gmail.com.

Bravo! The President Honors the Arts: Hanover College president Sue DeWine will host the annual event with a 90-minute stage show featuring student performances in theater, music, visual arts and creative writing at 7:30 p.m. in the Lynn Center for Fine Arts. Moving for Better Health: The free exercise class will meet from 9 to 10 a.m. Mondays at the Brown Gym. For more information call (812) 273-1072.

Recreation, Conservation and Volunteerism at Big Oaks: Joe Robb, refuge manager at Big Oaks National Wildlife Refuge will speak at 6:30 p.m. at the Jefferson County Public Library Madison branch. The talk will focus on the activities that occur at Big Oaks, highlighting different events as the seasons change and how visitors and volunteers can take advantage of what this National Wildlife Refuge has to offer.

Freethinkers Coffee and Conversation: Will meet at 7 p.m. on the first and third Mondays of the month at Mumbles.

April 8

Jefferson County Clearinghouse Planning Meeting: Will meet at 8 a.m. on the second Tuesday of the month at 215 E. Main St., Suite 1.

Carroll County Fiscal Court: Will meet at 9 a.m. on the second and fourth Tuesdays of each month in the Fiscal Court on the second floor of the Carroll County Courthouse.

NAMI Family Support Group: Will meet from 6:45 to 8:15 p.m. on the second Tuesday of the month at Faith Lutheran Church to support family members of those who have been diagnosed with a mental illness. The group is led by trained NAMI support group facilitators. For more information call (812) 292-1047.

Jefferson County Civil War Round Table: Historian Wayne Sanford will speak at 7 p.m. at the Jefferson County Historical Society, "Engineer Brigade of the Army of the Potomac During the Civil War." For more information call (812) 273-0556.

Pinwheels for Prevention Ceremony: Will be held at 7:30 p.m. at the First Baptist Church, 416 Vine St., as part of a statewide event marking the need to prevent child abuse in Indiana. Jefferson County Prosecutor Chad Lewis and other community partners will speak, Rev. Clifton Hartley will lead a prayer and the Southwestern High School band will perform. April 9

CAFFE: Carrollton Area Families for Education will meet at 1 p.m. Wednesdays at the Carroll County Public Library.
