| 6/27/2009 9:01:00 AM | Email this article Print this article | To Our Readers The Madison Courier you receive on Monday will have a new look. We are making some changes that we believe you will like.
The most noticeable changes will be the addition of color sports photos and the narrower width of the paper.
The Courier's Sports section will lead off the "B" section. That allows us to provide color sports photos every day. Readers have been asking for color sports photos and for the paper to separate the sports and news into different sections and we have accomplished both with these changes.
The change in the width of the newspaper has been done to bring The Courier in line with newspaper industry standards and to save money in newsprint expense.
We will continue to provide the best news coverage of our communities while taking advantage of some cost savings.
Other changes you will notice are redesigned front, Opinion and comics pages, a new location of the Lifestyles pages in the "A" section, and an expanded Classified Advertising section. The redesign will also allow us to have more opportunities to use color.
"Newspapers constantly evolve, and over the years we have made changes in the look of The Courier. But one thing that has never changed - and never will change - is our commitment to our readers and our communities," said Jane Jacobs, publisher of The Madison Courier.
