A Carrollton woman was arrested on burglary and theft charges.
Teresa Bond, 40, of 2144 Carlisle Road, was arrested on charges of burglary, second-degree; theft by unlawful taking, more than $300; and criminal mischief, second-degree.
Carroll County Sheriff Ben Smith said in his written report that Bond knowingly entered the dwelling of Dennie Miller.
Bond will appear at 11:15 a.m. Nov. 20 for a preliminary hearing in the 15th District Court in Carroll County.
Carroll Co. grand jury indicts man on burglary charges
A Mount Washington man was indicted on burglary-related charges in Carroll County.
Darrel Norris, 57, was indicted by a Carroll County grand jury on charges of burglary, first-degree; assault, fourth-degree; and wanton endangerment, first-degree.
Kentucky State Police Trooper Ryan Gosser said in his written report that Norris entered the house of Karla Maiden, on Mound Hill Road in Carroll County. Norris was armed with a loaded handgun.
Norris assaulted Maiden and pointed the handgun at her forehead, Gosser said. Maiden told authorities that Norris shot at her as she ran away from him.
Norris will appear for a pre-trial conference at 8:30 a.m. Nov. 17 in the Carroll County Circuit Court.
Carroll Co. grand jury indicts two men on burglary charges
Two Kentucky men were indicted on burglary-related charges in Carroll County.
Gavin Lawrence, 20, of New Liberty, and Cody Tingle, 20, of Carrollton, were indicted by a Carroll County grand jury on charges of burglary, second degree, and theft by unlawful taking, more than $300.
According to court records, Paul T. Hendren Jr. filed a criminal complaint against Lawrence and Tingle about a stolen Xbox 360, two controllers, two games and several DVDs, valued at about $500 total.
Carroll County Deputy Sheriff J.T. Shaw executed the warrants on Tingle and Lawrence and arrested them within the city limits of Carrollton. Both men's bonds were set at $10,000.
Tingle and Lawrence will appear at 8:30 a.m. Nov. 17 for arraignment in the Carroll County Circuit Court.
Carroll Co. grand jury indicts man on sex registry violation
A Carroll County man was indicted by a grand jury on charges stemming from not complying with the state sex offender registry.
Terry Gene Works, 36, was indicted on charges of failure to comply with sex offender registry and persistent felony offender, first-degree.
According to court documents, Works failed to provide his correct address for the sex offender registry. Works was convicted of three felonies, including the most recent charge of rape, third-degree. He was convicted of the rape of a female who was 15 years old in 2005.
Works was last reported living at 1391 Happy Hollow Lane in Worthville. But, his address could not be verified by law enforcement. He is to remain on the sex offender registry for 20 years and will be removed in 2026.
Works will appear at 9:01 a.m. Jan. 5, 2009, for a review in the Carroll County Circuit Court.
Carroll Co. grand jury indicts man on burglary charges
A Carrollton man was indicted on burglary and theft charges.
Christopher A. Nanny, 18, of 716 Main St., was indicted by a Carroll County grand jury on charges of burglary, second-degree and two counts of theft by unlawful taking, more than $300.
Carroll County Deputy Sheriff J.T. Shaw said in his written report that Nanny had admitted to burglary and theft at Happy Hollow Resort and a residence on Carlisle Street in Prestonville. Nanny assisted on the recovery of some of the stolen items from Fran Woosley's and Olga Horine's houses.
Nanny told police that being caught was the "best thing" for him right now because he had nowhere to go.
Nanny will appear at 8:30 a.m. Nov. 17 for a pre-trial conference in the Carroll County Circuit Court.
Sheriff arrests Carroll Co. couple for disorderly conduct
A Carroll County woman and a Milton man were arrested in Carroll County on disorderly conduct charges.
Amber Riddell, 20, of Carrollton, and Brandon Martin, 20, of 1986 W. Prong Locust Road, were arrested on charges of disorderly conduct, first-degree. Riddell also was charged with resisting arrest.
Carroll County Sheriff Ben Smith said in his written report that Martin and his girlfriend, Riddell, came to the Carroll County Courthouse when Smith was escorting a prisoner to his vehicle. Smith said Martin and Riddell became angry because Smith would not unlock the doors to the courthouse so they could see Martin's brother, who was in the sheriff's custody. Martin and Riddell were vocal toward Smith.
Martin was also arrested recently on an assault charge after Carrollton Police Sgt. Bob Stamper said in his written report that Martin had been involved in an automobile accident at Park Lane Shopping Center. Stamper said Martin got out of his car and started choking and hitting a female who was involved in the accident.
Riddell will appear at 10:29 a.m. Nov. 13 for a pre-trial conference in the 15th District Court in Carroll County. Martin will appear at 11:15 a.m. Dec. 11 for a court trial in the same court.
Carrollton police arrest local man on identity theft charge
A Carrollton man was arrested on an identity theft charge.
Gerardo P. Vega, 30, of 606 Main St., was arrested on a charge of theft of identity of another without consent.
Carrollton Police officer Jamie Kinman said in his written report that Vega had been serving weekends at the Carroll County Regional Detention Center, but he was using the name of Eduardo Montalvo. Montalvo was 41-years-old. He confessed to using another name and date of birth, Kinman said. Montalvo was to serve two more weekends until his sentence was complete.
Vega appeared at 10 a.m. Thursday for a preliminary hearing. No new court date was set.
KSP arrest Henry County man in Carroll County on fraud charge
A Henry County man was arrested in Carroll County on a fraud charge.
Lowell T. Wilson, 20, of Pleasureville, was arrested on a charge of fraudulent use of a credit card after reporting a loss or theft of more than $300.
Kentucky State Police Trooper Emilio Soto said in his written report that Wilson confessed to using the credit card and reporting it stolen. He had charged about $1,641 before falsely reporting it stolen, Soto said. Wilson said Charles Valentine gave him the card and used it multiple times knowing it was stolen.
Wilson will appear at 10 a.m. Nov. 13 for a preliminary hearing in the 15th District Court in Carroll County.
Carroll Co. grand jury indicts man on theft, fraud charges
A Kentucky man was indicted by a Carroll County grand jury.
William D. Dial, 21, was indicted on charges of receiving stolen property, more than $300; fraudulent use of a credit or debit card; theft by unlawful taking, more than $300; and knowingly exploiting an adult.
Kentucky State Police Detective Brady Lineman said in court records that Dial received a 2001 Nissan automobile knowing it was stolen. In addition to the vehicle, Dial took furniture, which valued more than $300, said Lineman.
Lineman said Dial used a credit or debit card for three months to obtain money, purchase goods or services from McNeal's Trustworthy Hardware in downtown Carrollton. He used the card without the consent of the lawful cardholder.
Dial knowingly exploited an adult, Peggy Lemaster, which resulted in a total loss to Lemaster of more than $300, Lineman said.
Dial will appear at 9:01 a.m. Jan. 5, 2009, for a review in the Carroll County Circuit Court.
Sheriff arrests two Carrollton residents, juvenile in shooting
Two Carrollton residents and a juvenile were arrested after a shooting took place in Oakview Estates.
Laci B. Marsh, 19, of 2817 Highland Ave., and Daniel R. Lucas, 19, of 1208 Lauren Ave., were arrested. Marsh was arrested on charges of complicity to criminal mischief, first-degree; criminal mischief, first-degree and complicity to wanton endangerment, first-degree. Lucas was arrested on charges of criminal mischief, first-degree, and two counts of wanton endangerment, first-degree.
Carroll County Deputy Sheriff J.T. Shaw said in his written report that Marsh admitted to driving the vehicle and Lucas was sitting in the back seat while a family member of Lucas' shot five rounds in the direction of a Hispanic male in Oakview Estates with a .22-caliber rifle. The rounds struck a Ford Expedition, an Oldsmobile Aurora and a trailer that had five children and three adults inside, Shaw said. The back glass of the vehicles were destroyed and there were bullet holes in the walls of the trailers.
