Grand jury indicts two on drug trafficking charges

Two Kentucky men were indicted by a Carroll County grand jury on drug trafficking charges.

Chase O. Ragland, 23, of Carrollton, and Steve E. Hardiman, 22, were indicted on charges of trafficking in a controlled substance in or near a school.

According to court documents, the two men were trafficking a controlled substance, clonazepam, near a school in Carroll County. Clonazepam is a highly potent anticonvulsant and muscle relaxant.

Ragland is lodged at the Carroll County Regional Detention Center. His bond is set at $20,000.

Ragland and Hardiman will appear at 8:30 a.m. Dec. 14 for review in the Carroll County Circuit Court. A jury trial is set for Jan. 13.




Grand jury indicts man

on endangerment charges


A Worthville man was indicted by a Carroll County grand jury on endangerment-related charges.

Garnett H. Marksberry, 46, of Worthville, was indicted on charges of wanton endangerment, first-degree; criminal mischief, first-degree; operating a motor vehicle under the influence, second offense; failure to maintain required insurance and failure to use seat belt.

According to court records, Marksberry intentionally or wantonly defaced, destroyed or damaged the property of Larry Searcy. The cost of the damage was more than $1,000.

Marksberry is being lodged at the Carroll County Regional Detention Center. His bond is set at $5,000.

Marksberry will appear at 8:30 a.m. Dec. 14 for review in the Carroll County Circuit Court. A jury trial is set for Jan. 13.




Grand jury indicts man on burglary-related charges
A Carrollton man was indicted by a Carroll County grand jury on burglary-related charges.

Jeffrey T. Keithley, 29, of Carrollton, was indicted on charges of burglary, second-degree; receiving stolen property; and persistent felony offender.

According to court records, Keithley entered the house of Gwendolyn Chapman and took more than $500 worth of items.

Keithley is being lodged at the Carroll County Regional Detention Center. His bond is set at $20,000.

Marksberry will appear at 8:30 a.m. Monday in the Carroll County Circuit Court.




Police arrest Carrollton woman for rape of boy

A Carrollton woman was arrested after police said she raped a 15-year-old male.

Stella R. Williamson, 24, of 120 Sixth St., was arrested on a charge of rape, third-degree.

Carrollton Police Officer Tim Gividen said in his written report that Williamson said she had sexual intercourse with a 15-year-old male. The juvenile also admitted to having sex with Williamson.

The offense was reported to police after the juvenile reported a medical problem to the Carroll County Health Department. The health department notified social services, who notified police.

Williamson appear at 10:30 a.m. Thursday for a pretrial conference in the 15th District Court in Carroll County.




Grand jury indicts woman on multiple charges

A Carrollton woman was indicted by a Carroll County grand jury on multiple drug-related charges

Jessica M. Harp, 33, of 808 Butler St., was indicted on charges of theft of a controlled substance; fraudulent use of a credit card; burglary, second-degree; unlawful transaction with a minor; and receiving stolen property.

According to court documents, three separate crimes occurred all in October.

During the first offense, police said Harp went to Wal-Mart in Carrollton where she picked up her sister's prescription drugs. The prescription was for vicodin. According to court records, Harp did not give the medication to her sister, and her sister two weeks later tried to pick up her prescription from the store.

In the next incident, police said Harp took a wallet belonging to Teresa Wisdom. The wallet was inside Wisdom's unlocked truck at the time. According to court records, Harp used the credit cards in Wisdom's wallet to make three purchases - one at American Rental for $76.20; one at Wal-Mart for $28.22; and another at Wal-Mart for $142.19.

In the final crime, police said Harp was involved in a burglary of a house belonging to Tonya Bolton. The property taken from the house was pawned at Quick Money in Carrollton. According to court documents, Harp also induced a minor to engage in criminal activity as well.

Harp will appear at 8:30 a.m. Dec. 14 in the Carroll County Circuit Court.




Police arrest Carrollton man on theft charges

George R. Carter, 36, of 604 Mason St., was arrested on charges of theft by unlawful taking, receiving stolen property and criminal mischief.

Carroll County Deputy Sheriff J.T. Shaw said in his written report that Carter was looking under the hood of his truck, which was backed up next to the fence line on North American Stainless' property. Some stainless steel scrap was found lying on the ground outside the fenced in area. The steel was covered with straw to hide it. There was a shoe print in the mud near the steel that matched Carter's shoes, Shaw said.

Carter will appear at 8:30 a.m. Monday for a pretrial conference in the Carroll County Circuit Court.




Police arrest Trimble Co. man on sex abuse charge

An employee of the Kentucky Correctional Psychiatric Center was arrested after police said he sexually abused a juvenile.

William E. Park, 66, of Pendleton, was arrested on a charge of sexual abuse, first-degree.

According to court documents, Park sexually touched a juvenile between May and August 2009 in Trimble County. Park told police that he made a mistake and was sorry for what he did.

No court date has been set in this case.
