As Mayor of Madison and on behalf of a grateful Nation, I would like to express my deepest sympathy to the family of Jon Menke. It is with reverence and deep appreciation that we thank Jon and his family for his service and ultimate sacrifice. To honor Jon, we ask that community members, that are able, to line the route for his arrival back in Madison on August 12th. Please bring flags if possible. The processional should be arriving at the intersection of Hwy 7 and Clifty Drive around 10:30am. They will precede East on Clifty and turn left on to Michigan Road to Morgan, Nay Funeral Centre.
On Thursday August 14th, we ask that after the funeral at approximately 12:30, members of the community line the processional route with flags, to the Veterans Memorial Cemetery which will be Jon's final resting place. The processional will take the following route from Madison Consolidated High School: North on Wilson Avenue, East on Clifty Drive, South on Michigan Road, West on State Street, to State Hospital entrance, South to Indiana Veterans Cemetery. Flags will be given out at the funeral home and various locations.
Sincerely,
Tim Armstrong
Mayor
