Ruth Adams

Ruth W. Adams, 98, of Carrollton, Ky., died Monday, Jan. 17, 2014, at the River Reed Assisted Living Center in Carrollton, Ky.

She was born Nov. 29, 1915, in Carrollton, Ky., to Alfred and Kathleen Winfred Grinnel Adams. She was a homemaker. She was an active member of English Christian Church, where she played piano for many years.

There are no immediate survivors.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Margaret Adams; and three brothers, Gilbert Adams, Joe Gales Adams and Hubert Adams.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at English Christian Church. Burial will be in English Cemetery.

Friends may call at the church Wednesday from 11 a.m. until the service.

Tandy-Eckler-Riley Funeral Home in Carrollton, Ky. is in charge of arrangements.

Dorothy Ferguson

Dorothy M. Hyatt Ferguson, 84, of Madison, died Monday, Feb. 17, 2014, at King's Daughters' Hospital.

Terry Harmon

Terry G. Harmon, 50, of Aurora, died Saturday, Feb. 15, 2014, at Dearborn County Hospital in Lawrenceburg.

He was born April 19, 1963, in Madison, to Wilfred "Dub" and Freda Maxine Allen Harmon. He was raised in Switzerland County and attended high school in Aurora. He was a slot attendant for the Rising Star Casino for the past eight years. He was a former server for Red Lobster in Western Hills. He was also a former employee for Levi's Distribution in Florence, Ky. He resided in the Aurora community fsor several years.

He is survived by one brother, Dennis Harmon of Fairview; two sisters, Karen Fields of Aurora and Brenda Harmon of Dillsboro; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Terry Harmon and Gary Wayne Harmon; and one sister, Pamela Harmon.

A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home in Vevay.

Friends may call at the funeral home Saturday from 10 a.m. until the service.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to the American Cancer Society. Contributions can be made through the funeral home.

Linda Lee

Linda Eileene Baker Lee, 64, of Palmyra, formerly of Madison, died Saturday, Feb. 15, 2014, at Floyd Memorial Hospital in New Albany.

She was born Aug. 24, 1949, in Paynesville, to Floyd Obert and Nina Hellen Bates Baker. She was raised in Chelsea and was a 1968 graduate of Southwestern High School. She earned a licensed practical nursing degree from Southeastern Indiana Vocational School of Nursing in New Albany. She worked for several years at the Clark County Hospital in Jeffersonville before transferring to Floyd Memorial Hospital in New Albany. She later operated a day care from her home.

She is survived by her husband of 41 years, Kenneth Anthony Lee Jr.; one daughter, Kathleen Coultier of Elizabeth; one son, Kevin Andrew Lee of Palmyra; three sisters, Sandra Baker, Essie Baker and Darrah Baker, all of Madison; one brother, Floyd Baker of Madison; seven step sisters, Felicia Bruce of Lexington, Jenny Ford of Dupont, Katie Wilking, Linda Jenkins and Shirley Little, all of Madison, Mary Jo Harding of Nabb and Doris Jones of Colorado; two brothers, Doug Youngblood of Osgood and Ed Youngblood of Madison; two grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her father; two step sisters, Barbara Giblin and Millie Janes; and two step brothers, Charles Youngblood and Kenneth Youngblood.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Love Funeral Home in Palmyra.

Friends may call at the funeral home today from 4 to 8 p.m. and Wednesday from 9 a.m. until the service.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to a charity of the donor's choice. Contributions can be made through Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre, which is in charge of local arrangements.

Irene Messer

Irene Lavonne Messer, 59, of Cross Plains, died Monday, Feb. 17, 2014, at King's Daughters' Hospital.

She was born Jan. 19, 1955, in Hazard, Ky., to Arnold and Delphia Beverly Combs. She was a 1973 graduate of South Ripley High School. She was a license practical nurse and most recently worked at Manderley Health Care in Osgood. She was a member of Cross Plains United Methodist Church.

She is survived by one son, Gary Grigsby of Cross Plains; three daughters, Michelle Hurst of Cross Plains, Audrey Grigsby of Versailles and Danielle Messer of Cross Plains; one brother, Randy Combs of Ackworth, Ga.; three sisters, Jennifer Combs and Brenda Adams, both of Madison, and Glenda Leach of Hanover; nine grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Messer, who died April 15, 2002; her parents; and two brothers, Ellis Combs and Robin Combs.

The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home in Versailles. Burial will be in the Cross Plains Methodist Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home Wednesday from 5 to 8 p.m.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to the Cross Plains United Methodist Church. Contributions can be made through the funeral home.

John O'Neill

John Sidney O'Neill, 63, of Madison, died Monday, Feb. 17, 2014, at Norton Hosparus Inpatient Unit in Louisville, Ky.
