    Madison Main Street announced today that it will be awarding a total of $10,900 in grants to 28 downtown businesses to help cover May rent or mortgage payments. This was identified as a top concern by downtown businesses trying to survive the pandemic, which has forced many to close, reduce hours, or completely change their business model.

    When Gene Stockdale, of Hanover, was buried on Friday, only immediate family members were allowed to attend services at the Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre Hanover Chapel due to COVID-19 crowd restrictions but that didn’t stop his many friends and admirers from showing up at the Jefferson County 4-H Fairgrounds to park and pay their respects as Stockdale’s funeral procession made it’s way through the facility.
