The Community Foundation of Madison and Jefferson County honored Lou Knoble Saturday, Feb. 1, at the Connor K. Salm Gymnasium of Madison Consolidated High School for his contributions to the Madison Community.
Knoble spent many years as an art teacher at MCHS, coached cross country at MCHS and Hanover College, and is a well-known Indiana artist. To recognize his contributions, the Community Foundation donated an original Lou Knoble painting to the high school Fine Arts Academy, so present and future students will see Knoble’s talent and contributions.
In addition to the artwork, the Community Foundation announced that Knoble’s friends, family and members of the community have established the Lou Knoble Gift of Art Fund in his honor.
Annual grants from this fund will be made to the MCHS Fine Arts Academy to support art enrichment experiences and special programs for the students.
