Music Director Dr. David Bowden and the award-winning Columbus, Indiana, Philharmonic Orchestra present the 19th Annual “Salute!” concert in honor of those who have served and currently serve in the U.S. Armed Forces. The outdoor concert will take place on the lawn of the Bartholomew County Courthouse on Friday, May 24, at 7 p.m.

This free patriotic concert began in 2001 and continues to be a community favorite each year during Memorial Day Weekend. This event has become one of Columbus’ highly anticipated programs and is tradition for families as they bring lawn chairs, blankets and their patriotic attire. Along with the concert, there will be a Blackhawk helicopter landing at 6 p.m. and concessions, with proceeds benefitingthe Columbus East High School Band Boosters.

Also included in the program is a special flag-folding ceremony honoring those who sacrificed their lives to protect the country.

She has previously sung in “The Magic Flute,” “Die Fledermaus” and “L’Orefo” and has won numerous first place vocal competition awards.
