Forms are available for this year’s 4th of July and Madison Regatta Parade. The parade will begin at 7 p.m. on Friday, July 5. The route will take floats down Main Street from Jefferson to Cragmont.

This year’s parade, sponsored by German American Bank, will showcase the theme “Go for Gold” in honor of the City of Madison hosting the Gold Cup race at this year’s Regatta, said a news release. The cost for parade entries is $75 to be made payable to the City of Madison with “Regatta Parade” written in the memo section.

The fee will be waived for nonprofit agencies and schools. The parade’s proceeds will help cover the costs of the annual American Legion Post #9 Fireworks Spectacular set for dusk on Saturday, July 6 along Madison’s riverfront.

The fireworks display will be free for spectators, but a wristband must be purchased to enter the areas that are part of the Roostertail Music Festival, including Bicenntenial Park, Vaughn Drive from West Street to Broadway and West Street south of First Street. Wristbands are $25 for music only, $25 for racing only or $40 for both for the entire weekend.

Donation boxes made by Madison Consolidated High School’s Cub Manufacturing students will be along Madison’s riverfront the night of the fireworks to help raise funds for future fireworks displays.

Forms are available online at or at City Hall. The deadline for parade entries and fees is June 28 and should be mailed to Kim Washer at 1958 N. Ryker’s Ridge Road, Madison, IN 47250 or emailed to
