Trimble County’s annual Relay for Life was chased into the Bedford Elementary gymnasium Saturday night due to a forecast for wet weather.

But, that didn’t dampen the June 8 event, which raised more than $35,000 to help in the fight against cancer.

Nearly 200 cancer survivors, friends and family members walked the gym floor in support and memory of those impacted by cancer.

Through various booths and silent auction items created by the Relay for Life teams and attendees, the event raised $35,546.48 to date with all proceeds donated to the American Cancer Society.
