The 2019 Ohio River Sweep is scheduled for Saturday, June 15, along the Ohio River. Volunteers from six states will help remove tons of litter and more than 100 locations are scheduled.

“Sweep volunteers are truly exceptional people,” said Program Manager Lisa Cochran. “They are willing to pick up litter and get a little dirty in order to help our great resource — the Ohio River.”

People who want to volunteer can go to www.OhioRiverSweep.prg to find the list of over 100 locations and then contact their local coordinator. Trash bags are provided and each volunteer will receive a free t-shirt.

The Ohio RIver Sweep is organized by the Ohio River Valley Water Sanitation Commission (ORSANCO) and other state and environmental agencies from Pennsylvania to Illinois.
