LOUISVILLE, Ky. — The Kentucky State Police Electronic Crime Branch arrested Clyde D. Gardner, 35, Friday just before midnight on charges related to use of a minor in a sex performance and distribution of matter portraying a sexual performance by a minor, said a release from KSP.

Gardner’s arrest came as the result of an undercover Internet Crimes Against Children investigation. The KSP Electronic Crime Branch began the investigation after discovering Gardner sharing files of child sexual exploitation online, said the release.

The investigation resulted in the execution of a search warrant at a residence in Louisville on Friday. Equipment used to facilitate the crime was seized and taken to KSP’s forensic laboratory for examination. The investigation is ongoing.

Gardner is currently charged with five counts of use of a minor in a sex performance and five counts of distribution of matter portraying a sexual performance by a minor. He is in custody at the Jefferson County Detention Center.
