The music department at Hanover College has a busy schedule ahead as the school pushes toward the end of a semester.

The music department has four major events and several student productions before the end of April.

The Spring Coral concert is scheduled for March 30 at 2 p.m. The Hanover College and Madison Area Orchestra will perform together on April 2 at 7:30 p.m. On April 4, the Hanover College Concert Band will perform at 7:30 p.m. and on April 13, the annual President Honors the Arts Program will be held at 7:30 p.m. All of the events will be hosted in the Fitzgibbon Recital Hall.

"Those are our four big major events," music department chairman Kimm Hollis, said. "April 13 is one of the largest events of the year on campus. All the arts come together to be honored. The music, art, and creative writing come together and we honor our best students at the college."

Hollis said that there are also several students who are doing individual solo concerts between now and the end of the year. Up to 12 students are scheduled to perform solo shows, but Hollis said that those shows could easily change times or locations between now and when they're scheduled to perform.

"In addition to those four major events there are several students doing solo voice and piano recitals and anyone interested can call the music department to find out the schedule," Hollis said.

The student and group performances are all free and open to the public.
