King's Daughters' Health announced relocation of the Convenient Care Center to the Clifty Drive Medical Building next month.

Renovations have already begun at the Clifty Drive Medical Building, 445 Clifty Dr., in preparation for the move from the center's current location in the River Pointe Shopping Center.

KDH Convenient Care Center will be located in the front of the building.

Doctors will continue to see patients at the medical building following the renovations. The offices of Drs. Phillip Ross, Alan Culbreth and Larry Williams will be accessed from the south or back side of the facility.

Renovations will also include space for a future occupational medicine clinic, which will be added later

Officials expect the move to the new center will close the Convenient Care Center services for one day at the end of June.

The phone numbers for the Convenient Care Center and physician offices will remain the same. The Convenient Care Center can be reached at 273-5372, and physician offices may be reached at 273-7700.

Ross, Culbreth and Williams will temporarily locate in the Downtown Medical Building. Patients may contact the physician offices at the same phone number, 273-7700, during the move, a hospital release said.

During the renovations, workers moved floor tiles beneath the carpeting. Because of the age of the facility, hospital officials determined the tiles might contain asbestos, a common material found in tiles and insulation during that time. For safety purposes, renovations stopped and the area was sealed once the tiles had been moved, a hospital release said.

King's Daughters' Health has hired a licensed contractor to remove any potential asbestos.
