Vevay will host its monthly First Friday event this weekend with a variety of activities and treats for visitors.

At the Swiss Perks Coffee Shop, located at 128 W. Main St., the “Friends and Masters Art Show” will feature eight works from the collection of Ann Farnsley.

Farnsley, who has had a studio in Vevay since 1970, received a master’s degree in creation art from the Allen R. Hite Institute at the University of Louisville.

The show will include works from Tom Sanker, Gus Catanzaro, Rosemary Butterbaugh, Paul Hassfurter, Robert Saueressig, Steve Bickis and Carol Deetch.

Pieces range from from the abstract to more realistic watercolors.

The Community Art Center of Switzerland County, 217 Ferry St., will offer sweet chocolate treats and new pieces will be featured to go along with the center’s “Love is in the Air” theme of the month.

From 6 to 9 p.m. the Switzerland County Visitor Center, also located at 128 W. Main St., will offer visitors 21 and older the opportunity for a Valentine’s Day-themed wine tasting with chocolates for pairing.

As weather permits, free carriage rides will be available departing from the Switzerland County Courthouse.

As always, First Friday events include extended shopping hours, dining and sales at participating businesses.
