Two vehicles were destroyed late Friday morning in a fire east of Brooksburg near the intersection of East Doe Run Road and Little Doe Run Road.

Aaron Heath, assistant fire chief at Brooksburg-Milton Township Fire & Rescue, said a contracting crew was blowing insulation into a home when a gasoline-powered piece of equipment on a nearby box truck ignited. The flames spread throughout the box truck and then jumped to another nearby box truck.

Dispatchers received the call at 11:55 a.m.

Moorefield Community Volunteer Fire Department in Switzerland County assisted at the scene.

Both vehicles, a 12-footer and 24-footer, were considered a total loss but no one at the scene was injured, Heath said.

Heath added that the fire was spreading up the insulation tube, which had been put through a window of the house.

"Another five minutes, and we probably would have had a full-blown house fire," he said.
