CARROLLTON — The Carroll County Sheriff’s Office recovered more than $20,000 in stolen property April 3, when deputies reported to a burglary in progress on Stafford Lane. A news release from the sheriff’s office Facebook page said one deputy was able to track the suspect through the woods until he was spotted and a foot pursuit began. The suspect was apprehended and taken to the Carroll County Detention Center on charges of theft by unlawfully taking more than $10,000; criminal tresspass, second degree; theft by unlawfully taking less than $10,000; burglary, third degree; fleeing and evading, second degree; and possession of methamphetamine. The subject was also served with two outstanding warrants, the release said. The deputies recovered a stolen RTV, which had been a part of a previous theft off Whites Run Road, along with an aluminum trailer full of tools. The items have been returned to the owners.
