A foot search has been scheduled for a Switzerland County woman who has been missing since December of 2018.

Brittany Hammond, 30, was last seen on Dec. 12, 2018 in Patriot, Indiana, when she left the home where she had been staying to go to the store at about 11 p.m. She has not been seen or heard from since.

Authorities are now organizing a public search for Hammond on Saturday, Nov. 2. Beginning at a command center that will be established at the East Enterprise Fire Department Station 2, located at 15337 Hill Road, Florence, Indiana, volunteers will branch out from there with hopes of finding some clue to Hammond’s whereabouts.

The daylight search will begin at 8 a.m. and run to about 5 p.m. and searchers must be at least 18 years old with a valid ID. The search will be conducted on foot so no ATVs, horses or dogs allowed.

Volunteers are urged to dress appropriately for the weather and for wooded areas including wearing work gloves. Water will be provided but searchers should bring their own snacks.
