A Trimble County man was arrested Wednesday after a robbery at the Marathon station in Campbellsburg.

KSP Post 5 dispatchers received a 9-1-1 call Tuesday at 10:49 p.m. saying that someone had just robbed the station and fled on foot.

An employee at the station said the robber demanded money but did not show a weapon.

After viewing security footage, the suspect was identified as Clint Hayes, 35, of Bedford.

Contact was made with Hayes' wife, Camie Bramblette, at their residence on Webb Lane.

Bramblette, who is an employee at the Marathon, admitted to planning the robbery with her husband but said she had changed her mind and asked him not to rob the store.

Hayes was later located at the home on Webb Lane. As troopers approached the home, Hayes attempted to flee in a minivan. After nearly striking two troopers, Hayes was arrested, the KSP report said.

Hayes is charged with robbery and two counts of wanton endangerment of a police officer. He is being held at the Carroll County Detention Center.
