A Madison women was injured when the trike motorcycle she was a passenger on collided with a car at the intersection of State Roads 56 and 62 Saturday afternoon near Hanover.

The accident occurred at about 4:30 p.m. when the trike, driven by Mark Powell, 63, of Madison, was heading westbound on S.R. 56 and collided with a Chevrolet Impala driven east on S.R. 56 by Charles Kindoll, 77, of Hanover. The collision happened when Kindoll attempted to turn left onto S.R. 62 in front of the trike and the two vehicles clipped each other.

A passenger on the trike, Judith Powell, 63, of Madison, was thrown from the vehicle and ended up in a field to the right side of the roadway. She complained of pain and was transported to a hospital. There were no other injuries in the crash.

Kindoll told police he did not see the trike coming uphill toward the intersection when he attempted to make his turn onto S.R. 62.

No charges have been filed in the incident, which was investigated by the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department. King’s Daughters EMS also responded to the scene.
