A barge and crane are near the pier widening work being done on the Madison-Milton Bridge as temperatures barely made it into the double digits after sunrise on Thursday. A spokesperson for the project said that recent weather has not stopped construction, though the workers have been slowed down by snow and ice. Also, higher river levels lead to problems holding the barges in place to do their work. This particular high water event has caused several problems because of the increased amount of river debris.
