Barbara Melton Fleenor, 59, of Madison, died Monday, March 31, 2014, at her residence.

Thomas Quinn

Thomas Howard Quinn, 68, of Madison, died Friday, March 28, 2014, at his residence.

He was born Jan. 12, 1946, in Madison, to Charles R. and Clara Edna Athey Quinn. He resided his early life in Madison, but his father was in the service and he lived all over the world. He served in the Army from Nov. 19, 1965 to Nov. 18, 1971, rising to the rank of Specialist Five serving during the Vietnam War. He received the Good Conduct Medal and other service and campaign medals. He was employed as a psychiatric technician for mental illness, working 11 years for the State of California and 12 years as a ditch rider for Mohawk Valley Irrigation in Wellton, Ariz. He moved back to Madison in 2001. He enjoyed bowling, fishing, gambling, playing pogo, music, coin collecting and frog gigging.

He is survived by three daughters, Tamara Easter of Prescott Valley, Ariz., Tracey Meng of Arlington, Texas, and Tiffany Garner of Madison; one son, Thomas Shane Howard Quinn of Madison; three brothers, Charles Evan "Buddy" Quinn of Danville, Calif., John William "Johnny" Quinn of Yuma, Ariz., and Michael Casey "Mike" Quinn of Rohnert Park, Calif.; four sisters, Helen Ann Liter of Lexington, Carolyn Jean Whitmer of El Centro, Calif., and Patricia Louise Quinones and Linda Kay Bocio, both of Yuma, Ariz.; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and one granddaughter.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Indiana Veterans Memorial Cemetery Chapel. Burial will be in the Indiana Veterans Memorial Cemetery. Military honors will be conducted at the cemetery chapel.

Friends may call at the Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre today from 5 to 7 p.m.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to the Wounded Warrior Project or St. Jude Children's Hospital. Contributions can be made through the funeral home.
