Marlene Russell

Marlene Jane Howell Russell, 74, of Madison, died Thursday, Sept. 26, 2013, at King's Daughters' Hospital.

She was born May 9, 1939, in Bedford, to John R. and Mary Jane Wright Howell. She was a high school graduate. She resided most of her life in Madison. She worked at Reliance Electric for several years. She was united in marriage in 1963 to Richmond H. "Rich" Russell. She owned and operated Hilltop Machine and Tool in Madison and served as the office manager as well. She worked for 15 years in data entry for Midwest Tube. She also worked for Howell's Shoppers Mart and Butler Dairy for several years and as manager for Dairy Mart's Hanover store. She also worked as a receptionist at Clifty Inn for several years. She enjoyed spending time with her family, playing bingo and bowling.

She is survived by three sons, Richard L. "Rick" Russell of Madison, Christopher D. "Chris" Russell of Hanover and Anthony W. "Tony" Russell of Columbus; one sister, Linda Boldery of Hanover; one brother, Mike Howell of Hanover; six grandchildren; three step grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; eight step great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her father, who died Sept. 7, 1992; her mother, who died Dec. 7, 1985; one brother, John Dean Howell, who died July 6, 1982; and her twin sister, Darlene Howell.

The funeral will be at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre. Burial will be in Hebron Cemetery near Madison.

Friends may call at the funeral home Tuesday from 4 to 7 p.m. and Wednesday from 1:30 p.m. until the service.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to Lide White Memorial Boys & Girls Club/Family & Community Center. Contributions can be made through the funeral home.

Daniel Stoltzfus Jr.

Daniel X. Stoltzfus Jr., 18, of Versailles, died Thursday, Sept. 26, 2013, from injuries sustained in a traffic accident on U.S. 421 in Versailles.

He was born April 2, 1995, in Chester County, Pa., to Daniel X. Sr. and Emma Fisher Stoltzfus. He was raised and attended school in Christian County, Ky. He owned and operated Cedar Valley Horseshoeing and was a horse trainer and horseshoer. He resided the past 4 1/2 years in Versailles. He was a member of the Old Order Amish Church.

He is survived by his parents of Versailles; three brothers, Sam Stoltzfus of Lancaster County, Pa., Ivan Stoltzfus of Versailles and Benuel Stoltzfus of Lancaster County, Pa.; five sisters, Sarah Glick of Winchester, Tenn., Naomi Kanagy of Rockville, Lydia Stoltzfus of Lancaster County, Pa., and Marian Stoltzfus and Marnie Stoltzfus, both of Versailles.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Daniel L. Stoltzfus; and his maternal grandparents, Samuel and Rebecca Fisher.

The funeral will be at noon today at New Marion Sales, 5123 W. County Road 550-S, Holton. Burial will be in Ridge View Old Order Amish Cemetery in Rexville.

Visitation was Friday at the Stoltzfus residence in Versailles.

Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home in Vevay is in charge of arrangements.
